Welcome to Year 2
In Year 2 we have two classes, 2AS and 2T:
2RS: Teacher - Mrs Armstrong(Monday and Tuesday) and Mrs Stevenson (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) Teaching Assistant: Mrs Gardiner
2T: Teacher - Mrs Thompson Teaching Assistant: Mrs Gardiner
On a Wednesday afternoon, children are also taught by Mrs Sheilds and Mrs Barton.
In Year 2, the children continue to learn in a variety of fun and engaging ways. We cover many exciting topics throughout the year. For example: Mary Anning, David Attenborough, Materials, Plants and Animals, Living things and their habitats, Tanzania and Understanding our World.
The children do P.E. twice a week, following the Champions Sport, Health and Fitness Scheme of work. Over the year, we have professional coaches who also teach the children a variety of different sports.
Throughout the school, we follow the Little Wandle Phonics and reading scheme and set weekly Mathletics Maths homework. After completing phonics, the children will move onto a spelling scheme.
