A very BIG welcome from all the reception team!

In RW the class teacher is Mr Wheatley and in RS the class teacher is Mrs Simpson. Reception classes are supported by Mrs Watson,  Mrs Hand, Mrs Reynolds, Miss Harrison and Miss Anderson. 

On Wednesday mornings, when Mr Wheatley and Mrs Simpson have their planning time, Mrs Stewart and Mrs Watson will teach the classes.

At Stanwix, we believe Early Years education should be joyful, nurturing, and inspiring, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Our Reception classes offer a balance of child-led exploration and purposeful teaching, supporting each child’s holistic development. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures children’s development and equips them for the next stage of their education. Wherever possible, we follow the children’s interests, adapting our planned topics to reflect their curiosity and engagement.

Throughout the year, we’ll be exploring lots of exciting topics including Let’s Celebrate, Ready, Steady, Grow, and Mad About Minibeasts! We will enjoy many visits such as a trip to the library to foster a love of reading, Croft Farm to learn about spring and meet the lambs, and Stocks Wood to discover minibeasts and take part in Forest School activities. 

In the mornings, we focus on developing Literacy and Numeracy skills, while the afternoons are devoted to the wider curriculum. Throughout the day, your child will enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor play activities designed to support their learning. We are looking forward to a year full of fun, learning, and discovery!
