Trustee Structure

Stanwix School Academy

Stanwix School is proud to be an academy, combining the independence to shape our own future with an unwavering commitment to delivering the highest standards of education. As an academy, we have the flexibility to design a rich and ambitious curriculum, respond to the needs of our pupils and community, and continually enhance the opportunities we provide.

Guided by our values and vision, we are dedicated to helping every child flourish, achieve their full potential and develop a lifelong love of learning. We are directly accountable to the Department for Education and operate in accordance with the requirements of the Academy Trust Handbook. Through strong governance, robust financial management and rigorous regulatory compliance, we ensure transparency, accountability and the highest standards of stewardship in support of our pupils, families and wider community.

Our Members

Members oversee the Trust’s governance. They make sure the Trust stays focused on its purpose, hold Trustees to account for running the Trust effectively, and have responsibility for key decisions such as appointing Trustees and approving important changes to the Trust’s constitution. Our Members of Stanwix School Academy meet at least annually with the Chair of Trustees and senior leaders to review the school’s audited accounts and evaluate progress against the Trust’s strategic aims.

Trustees

The Board of Trustees is made up of individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including education, finance, law, human resources, and the local community. The Headteacher also serves as a Trustee. Together, they provide strategic leadership and support to the school, with the shared goal of raising standards and promoting high-quality teaching and learning.
