Homework

At Stanwix School, homework is used to reinforce and extend the learning that takes place in the classroom. Teachers plan homework activities appropriate to each year group, helping children to practise key skills, develop independence and build confidence in their learning.

Homework will be sent home weekly and will typically include a combination of reading, writing and spelling activities, alongside occasional project-based tasks linked to topics and themes being studied in school. We strongly encourage regular reading at home, as this is one of the most important ways parents and carers can support their child's learning and foster a lifelong love of books.

To support families further, our Subject Areas and Remote Learning pages contain a range of useful resources, guidance and activities. These can help parents and carers understand how learning is taught in school and provide ideas for reinforcing key skills through everyday experiences and real-life situations at home.
