Housed within a beautiful Victorian building rich in character and history, our school offers a wide range of inspiring spaces where children can learn, play, create and flourish.
Every area of our school has a purpose: to provide experiences that spark curiosity, nurture wellbeing and help children develop confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.

Our large playing field, situated across the road from the main school building, is the place where the children enjoy P.E and sporting activities such as football, rugby and cricket. It also becomes the centre of school life during Infant Sports Days, school and community events. A particular highlight from last year was the Year 6 leaving BBQ, where children and their families got together for the last time and reminisced about their Stanwix journey. Such a lovely evening with lots of memories made.
Our school garden is currently being developed into an exciting learning environment that supports outdoor education, environmental awareness and wellbeing.
Children will have opportunities to explore nature, learn about sustainability, grow plants and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. As the space evolves, it will support elements of Forest School learning and provide a calm environment where children can engage with nature through hands-on experiences.
Directly adjacent to the school garden, you will find the Petrianus- previously an old basketball court, this area is being developed to have a space that encourages good old fashioned play that is a vital part of childhood, this space is being transformed into a creative and open-ended play environment.
Children will be encouraged to explore, imagine, create, collaborate and take ownership of their play experiences. In line with the philosophy of OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning), Petrianus will offer opportunities for adventurous, inclusive and child-led play that supports physical, social and emotional development.
Learning does not only happen inside the classroom. Our outdoor learning space provides children with access to natural resources and opportunities for hands-on discovery.
Whether investigating habitats, solving problems, creating art from natural materials or developing teamwork skills, pupils benefit from meaningful experiences that bring learning to life.
At the heart of our school is a welcoming library that fosters a lifelong love of reading.
Children can explore a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts, discover new interests and enjoy quiet moments with a good book. The library is a valued space where imagination, curiosity and learning flourish.
The Nest is one of our dedicated pastoral spaces and reflects our commitment to the wellbeing of every child.
Designed to be calm, nurturing and supportive, The Nest provides a space where children can receive emotional support, build confidence, regulate their feelings and feel safe when they need additional guidance. It plays an important role in ensuring that every child feels seen, heard and valued.

Our dedicated computer room equips pupils with the digital skills they need for the future.
Children use technology to research, create, collaborate and develop their understanding of the digital world in a safe and engaging environment. From coding and digital literacy to creative projects, technology is an integral part of learning across the curriculum.

Our wraparound provision and before and after-school clubs provide a safe, enjoyable environment for children, while supporting families with childcare. Lunchtime is an important part of the school day and our children enjoy freshly prepared meals provided by Aspens Services. Aspens specialises in school catering and focuses on providing nutritious, balanced meals that meet School Food Standards, while also encouraging healthy eating habits and introducing children to a variety of foods.
We are particularly proud that our children eat together as a school community, creating a positive, family atmosphere where conversation, friendship and belonging continue beyond the classroom.
Our friendly school office is often the first point of contact for families and visitors.
The team works hard to ensure every child and family receives a warm welcome and the support they need, helping to maintain the strong relationships that sit at the heart of our school community.
Medical and First Aid Area
The health and wellbeing of our pupils is a priority. Our dedicated medical and first aid area provides a safe and appropriate space for children who require care, treatment or support during the school day.
Assembly Hall
Our assembly hall is the beating heart of the school.
It is where we come together to celebrate achievements, share important moments, perform, learn and strengthen the sense of community that makes our school unique. From assemblies and productions to celebrations and special events, the hall plays a central role in school life.
