School Council

18th March 2015

Once again it was time for the Carlisle School Partnership  school council meeting. On this occasion I went along with Henry as our Fairtrade representative. We had to prepare a presentation for the meeting about what we liked about Carlisle and how we would thought it could be improved. Some of our ideas were, homeless shelters, Fairtrade items sold in shops, cycle paths and the roads of Carlisle.  We listened to the other presentations which we really enjoyed and finished off with juice and biscuits.

Council Chambers 2014

William and I went to the Civic centre on the 21st of October 2014. Before we entered the chambers we walked down a long corridor in which we discovered all the Mayors that there has been in the past, we felt like we were walking down the red carpet. There was a variety of schools with a lot of great ideas such as a comedy club, toasty Tuesday  and  finally a memorial service. The mayor was there in which  he gave a speech congratulating us on our progress so far as a school Council, we felt really proud. Our speech went very well because everyone was intrigued including the mayor. We listened  to other peoples ideas. After everybody had spoken we were both  lucky enough to get a photo with the Mayor himself. After all the talking we all went for some juice and biscuits, which were delicious.
